Professional Experience
Mr. McCubbrey’s practice focuses on patent, trademark and copyright law. Mr. McCubbrey’s experience includes working with high technology clients in a wide variety of technical disciplines including electronics, metallurgy, instrumentation, semiconductors and software. He has counseled and represented all sizes of companies from start-ups to Fortune 500 corporations. Mr. McCubbrey was also one of the first patent lawyers to practice extensively in the biotechnology area. He has represented Cetus, The Salk Institute, The University of California, Suntory, Lipha and Baxter in biotechnology, biomedical, and pharmaceutical matters.
Mr. McCubbrey has litigated patent infringement cases in many areas of technology including software, electronics, physics, biotechnology, pharmaceuticals and medical devices. He has handled cases at the district court level in Federal Courts throughout the country and has also argued appeals before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit. In addition, Mr. McCubbrey has written articles and lectured on the topics of patent-antitrust law, biotechnology patents and patent litigation.
