Christopher Cantrell is a senior analyst with Manatt Health Solutions (MHS), an interdisciplinary policy and business advisory division of Manatt, Phelps & Phillips, LLP.  He tracks and analyzes state and health policy developments relating to healthcare provider and payer markets and other emerging healthcare trends.  Mr. Cantrell also provides project support and strategic business advice on a broad range of issues, including healthcare reform, public health insurance programs, health IT, delivery system and payment reform.

Prior to joining MHS, Mr. Cantrell worked as a contractor with the California Department of Public Health, evaluating sustainability plans for the California Home Visiting Program.  In that role, he also researched funding and partnership opportunities with Medi-Cal and other state agencies.  Mr. Cantrell was previously a policy analyst with the National Academy for State Health Policy (NASHP), where he drafted research papers on a wide array of topics, including children's oral health, workforce issues, Medicaid, CHIP, health information technology and federal health reform.  He also played an integral role in the development and launch of StateReforum.org, an online network for health reform implementation.  In addition, he coordinated technical assistance to states participating in the State Health Access Program (SHAP) on health insurance expansion issues.
