Manatt Health Partner Helen Pfister was featured in InsideHealthPolicy discussing how state lawmakers are protecting hospitals and pharmacies against insurance industry restrictions on 340B drug discounts.
In the article, Pfister noted that “the most common approach [for state lawmakers] is to prohibit insurers from paying hospitals and the pharmacies they contract with less for 340B drugs than drugs that are not subject to the discounts.”
Pfister added: “I think it could be a very long time before we have any sort of judicial resolution to this whole question. And I think in the interim, you'll see increasing calls for not only states but also the federal government to act, to intervene into this whole dispute over contract pharmacies.”
