    Profile

Lammot du Pont is a senior advisor of Manatt Health Solutions (MHS), an interdisciplinary policy and business advisory practice of Manatt, Phelps & Phillips, LLP. Mr. du Pont provides business and technology strategy, planning and management services, and policy and communications advice to clients in the healthcare industry, with an emphasis on health information technology.

Mr. du Pont has extensive experience helping organizations create strategic plans, secure funding, and manage the implementation of complex health information technology programs and healthcare delivery and payment initiatives. He has led the development of strategic and implementation plans for health information exchange for federal and state agencies, health information organizations, technology firms, and integrated delivery networks. On behalf of several states, including Maryland, New York, North Carolina, and Tennessee, Mr. du Pont has worked with multiple stakeholders to develop detailed strategies for the design, deployment, and sustainability of health information exchange projects. For hospitals and physician organizations, he has assessed opportunities and implementation approaches for health redesign, including bundled payments and patient-centered medical homes.

Prior to joining MHS, Mr. du Pont served in the Office of the National Coordinator for Health Information Technology (ONC) at the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. At ONC, he analyzed and supported regional, multi-stakeholder collaborations engaged in the secure, accurate, and timely exchange of health information to improve the quality, safety, and efficiency of healthcare delivery. Mr. du Pont also worked on the effort to develop a nationwide health information network to provide an interoperable, standards-based architecture for the secure exchange of healthcare information across the country.  Prior to ONC, Mr. du Pont served at the Foundation for the eHealth Initiative and the Department of Commerce’s Technology Opportunities Program, where he supported the use of  health information technology to improve the delivery of health care, education and social services.
