Professional Experience

Ms. Schoen concentrates her practice in advertising, marketing, and promotions.  She advises clients in matters relating to advertising practices, copyright, unfair competition, rights of publicity and privacy, licensing, continuity programs, online privacy, and spam.  She reviews print, television, radio, and Internet advertising and substantiation.  She drafts and negotiates a wide variety of agreements, licenses, and releases, including talent agreements, sponsorship agreements, product placement agreements, service agreements, privacy policies, website terms and conditions, and parental consent forms.  Ms. Schoen initiates and defends challenges to advertising claims before the National Advertising Division and the National Advertising Review Bureau of the Better Business Bureau.  She also defends inquiries by the Children's Advertising Review Unit of the Better Business Bureau and investigations by the Federal Trade Commission regarding the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act.  Prior to joining Manatt, Ms. Schoen was an associate at the law firm Hall Dickler Kent Goldstein & Wood, LLP.
