AdAge Speaks to Manatt Partner on FTC Chairman's Departure

Linda Goldstein, chair of the firm's Advertising, Marketing & Media Division, about Federal Trade Commission Chairman Jon Leibowitz's departure.

AdvertisingAge reports that Leibowitz's last day will be February 15. The departure announcement came as the FTC unveiled its Mobile Privacy Disclosures report, guidelines suggesting that mobile platforms and app developers obtain user consent when collecting location and other sensitive data.

"This was Leibowitz's farewell present. Privacy has been a major initiative," said Goldstein, who called the guidelines a "yellow light" for brands doing mobile couponing and other initiatives.
