Bloomberg TV Interviews Manatt Partner on Murdoch’s Time Warner Bid

Now is Best Time for Murdoch Time Warner Bid
– Bloomberg Television's "Market Makers"

Manatt's George Cooke, a partner in the firm's Entertainment and Media practice, participated in a broadcast discussion with Bloomberg Senior West Coast Correspondent Jon Erlichman and RBC Capital Markets Managing Partner David Banks for a segment titled "Now is Best Time for Murdoch Time Warner Bid." The segment focused on the bid by Rupert Murdoch's Twenty-First Century Fox Inc. for Time Warner Inc. and the outlook for the cable industry.

When asked what his response is to the bid, Cooke said, "I think my first response would be that it's definitely a content play. I think that the perception that Rupert is looking for a deep well of content is correct. I think if you look at the Time Warner library, it's exceptional. There's a tremendous amount of depth there, going all the way back to the MGM library from the '50s and '60s."
