Healthcare.gov's Back-End Issues

Employment Benefit Advisor interviewed Manatt’s Joel Ario, a managing director with Manatt Health Solutions, for an article on the tech issues still plaguing the federal health insurance exchange.

Employment Benefit Advisor reports that although there’s been far less uproar surrounding Healthcare.gov as open enrollment nears the end of year two, there are still plenty of issues.

Ario rated enrollment better this year. The consumer experience was OK, he said, but not great. “Front-end experience has improved substantially,” Ario said, but back-end issues still remain. The long-term goal for Healthcare.gov is to have a “Google-like experience,” Ario said, where a person inputs information into a search engine and it gives a recommendation for the best plan for that individual.

“We will get there eventually,” Ario said.
