de Recat to Be Inducted as Fellow into the Litigation Counsel of America

Manatt partner Craig J. de Recat has been selected as a Fellow of the Litigation Counsel of America, a highly selective, invitation-only trial lawyer honorary society. De Recat will be formally inducted into the prestigious group at the LCA's 2013 Fall Conference & Celebration of Fellows, October 16 through 18, 2013, at The Greenbrier, in White Sulphur Springs, West Virginia.

With membership limited to 3,500 Fellows, representing less than one-half of one percent of American lawyers, the LCA is extremely selective and aggressively diverse, with recognition of excellence among American litigation and trial counsel across all segments of the bar. Fellows are selected and invited into Fellowship after being evaluated on effectiveness and accomplishment in litigation and trial work, along with ethical reputation.

De Recat, who co-chairs Manatt's national trial practice, focuses his practice on complex litigation with a wide range of experience handling commercial, environmental, antitrust, insurance, intellectual property, patent/trademark, and related business matter disputes for national and international clients. He is an experienced trial attorney often called upon to handle trials for high-profile, high-risk or "bet the company" cases. He has also argued numerous appeals in federal and state courts, including the California Supreme Court. Clients include NBC Universal, Swiss Re Insurance Co., Andeavor and Kaiser Permanente.

A graduate of the University of California, Berkeley, de Recat earned his Juris Doctor degree from Loyola Law School, Los Angeles.

De Recat has served in numerous leadership positions at Manatt, including as a member of the firm's board of directors and as a past chair of the national Litigation Division.

A leader in the community as well, de Recat serves on the boards of the Western Justice Center, spcaLA, Loyola Law School (former president of the board) and the Will Geer Theatricum Botanicum.
