Manatt Ascends The American Lawyer 2007 Associate Survey
August 2007 - The American Lawyer 2007 Associates Survey results have been published and show Manatt's significant ascent in both national and regional rankings. The results are based on survey responses from 7,172 associates, considered mid-level (classes 2002, 2003, 2004). Any firm could participate, by request, in the survey conducted by ALM, but a minimum of 10 respondents surveyed needed to respond in order for results about the firm to published. This year, associates from 189 firms participated and 164 of the firms returned the minimum ten responses. Each respondent was asked to answer 11 questions that summarized the firm's qualities, including interest and satisfaction levels of work, benefits and compensation, relations between associates and partners, training and guidance, openness about finances and strategies, billable hours policy, and the likelihood of the associate being at the firm in two years. In each category, associates rated their overall satisfaction on a 1-5 scale. The twenty-five Manatt mid-level associates who responded (64% of those contacted) rated Manatt, overall, a 3.98, placing the firm as follows:
Manatt is 39th nationally, of 164 firms; up from 154th place in 2006

Manatt is 7th among the CalLaw 25
