Lukey Honored for Career of Firsts in Massachusetts Lawyers Weekly’s Inaugural Hall of Fame

Manatt Trial, White Collar and Investigations Partner Joan Lukey was named to the Massachusetts Lawyers Weekly inaugural Hall of Fame, which honors the state’s most prominent attorneys who have made significant contributions to the law and justice in their careers.

In her profile, Lukey was recognized for being one of the most notable women to rise in a male-dominated profession and make her mark as a “legendary litigator” in many of Boston’s top firms. From being the first woman to be named Best Oralist at the 25th National Moot Court Competition to being the first woman president of the American College of Lawyers, Lukey said she’s seen significant changes for representation of women in the law.

“It’s been slow in coming, but I’m finally seeing a situation where, when I walk into a room for a deposition, I’m not the only woman in the room other than the court reporter,” she said.
