Manatt was proud to partner with Legal Services NYC to provide pro bono representation to New Yorkers applying for rental assistance grants during a clinic on July 11.
New York offers emergency grants to prevent tenants from being evicted, known as “one shot deals,” but the program is difficult to access without representation. At the clinic, Manatt attorneys and summer associates helped grant seekers complete an online application and draft a persuasive letter detailing their need for rental assistance. If granted, the one shot deals would resolve pending eviction litigation against tenants and secure their housing.
