After releasing sweeping proposed rules on Medicaid access and managed care in spring 2023, the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) is expected to release final rule changes in April 2024. With these rules, CMS aims to increase transparency for Medicaid program data, enhance opportunities for beneficiary voice, and strengthen federal and state oversight of care access and quality. The proposed rules address both the fee-for-service (FFS) and managed care delivery systems, and also include targeted provisions on home and community-based services (HCBS). Click here to register for the free webinar.

Key topics for part three of this program include:

  • Home care rate transparency and payment adequacy
  • Strengthened standards for person-centered service plans
  • Updated procedures for monitoring access to care, quality of care, critical safety incidents and beneficiary grievances
