New Medicaid Options to Provide Housing Services: Realizing the Potential

Medicaid’s role in addressing housing insecurity and homelessness is rapidly evolving, with many states taking advantage of new federal flexibilities to provide housing and housing-related services to enrollees whose health outcomes depend on being stably housed. Implementing these services, however, is complex and requires collaboration and problem solving that cuts across the health and housing sectors.

In a new webinar, Manatt Health and a panel of leading innovators in Medicaid housing services will examine the evolving policy, and share a deep dive into implementation possibilities, choices and challenges.

Key topics we will cover include:

  • An overview of Medicaid’s evolving role in addressing housing insecurity and homelessness
  • A review of new federal guidance on how states can cover housing in Medicaid
  • Highlights of the national landscape of state Medicaid programs that are currently offering housing services
  • A panel discussion with Medicaid and housing leaders working on the ground on navigating the Medicaid/housing interface, focusing on:
    • Key implementation opportunities, challenges, bright spots and lessons learned from previous work
    • Priorities for cross-sector collaboration and coordination going forward
