Superheirs Ask High Court for Justice

The Copyright Act of 1976 allows authors and their families to terminate copyright grants years after they are made "notwithstanding any agreement to the contrary." The family or estate of co-creators of Superman, Captain America, the Fantastic Four, the X-Men, Thor and other famous characters have separately petitioned the U.S. Supreme Court to reverse two decisions that did not apply those provisions. Will the Supreme Court accept those petitions? Should it? The ownership of billions of dollars of copyrights could depend on the answers to those questions.
