Bay Area Offices and Pro Bono Director Honored

The Lawyers' Committee for Civil Rights of the San Francisco Bay Area has selected Manatt's San Francisco and Silicon Valley offices, as well as Partner & Director of Pro Bono Services Scot Fishman, to receive its 2016 James T. Caleshu Award for the firm's outstanding work to improve economic opportunities in underserved communities.

Each year, the James T. Caleshu Award is presented to Lawyers' Committee partners who have made an extraordinary pro bono contribution to the organization's Legal Services for Entrepreneurs program. The 2016 award will be accepted by Manatt's Financial Services and Banking Co-Chair Craig Miller at the Lawyers' Committee's 29th Annual Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Awards Luncheon on Jan. 28, when the legal community and community advocates will gather in support of the pro bono service.

The Lawyers' Committee works to advance, protect, and promote the legal rights of communities of color, as well as low-income persons, immigrants, and refugees. For almost five decades, the credo of the Lawyers' Committee has been that equal access to justice depends on access to quality legal services.
