Manatt a Finalist in M&A Advisor’s International Awards May 05, 2017 The M&A Advisor, a preeminent organization focused on offering insights and intelligence on mergers and acquisitions, has named Manatt a finalist for its ninth annual International M&A Awards. The annual awards recognize the top international deals, dealmakers and firms conducting important transactions in the Americas, Europe, Asia, Middle East, Africa and Australia. Manatt is a finalist in six categories, including M&A Deal of the Year, Corporate/Strategic Deal of the Year and Cross Border Deal of the Year, for its representation of InvaGen Pharmaceuticals and Mann + Hummel in separate deals. For InvaGen Pharmaceuticals, a therapeutic-focused generic prescription manufacturer and distributor, Manatt led its sale to India-based Cipla Ltd. for $550 million. With the acquisition of InvaGen, Cipla gains access to around 40 approved abbreviated new drug applications, 32 marketed products and 30 pipeline products that are anticipated to be approved. Manatt represented Mann + Hummel, a multibillion-euro filter product manufacturer and the owner of the Purolator brand, in its acquisition of Affinia Group’s filter business. The deal increased Mann + Hummel’s annual sales by one billion euro and provided access to the American market for heavy-duty and hydraulic filters. The firm’s mergers and acquisition practice negotiates deals for enterprising businesses of all kinds across the financial services, healthcare, entertainment and energy industries.
