GOP States Move To Cut Medicaid

Manatt’s Deborah Bachrach, a partner with Manatt Health, was quoted by The Hill in an article discussing how GOP states have moved to cut Medicaid.

According to the publication, at least six states with GOP governors – Arkansas, Kentucky, Arizona, Maine, Wisconsin and Indiana – have drafted plans to introduce new rules that people would have to meet in order to become Medicaid eligible. This could include the addition of work requirements or drug tests.

Work requirements “will have the result of cutting state Medicaid costs because fewer people will be on Medicaid,” said Bachrach.
