The San Francisco Chronicle interviewed Manatt’s Eunice Shin, managing director of Manatt Digital, for an article about Verizon’s video aspirations. Analysts say that Verizon’s media app, created in 2015, has fallen short of expectations, leading some to wonder whether Verizon will change the way it pays for content and how the app is structured.
“They spent a lot of money on content the first year, and they still have continued to do that,” said Shin. “The hardship is being able to really get the audiences there and get a return.”
“It just goes to show that it’s really hard to do it well on these digital platforms,” Shin concluded.
