The San Francisco Chronicle quoted Manatt’s Eunice Shin, managing director of Manatt Digital, in an article about YouTube’s new TV service.
The publication notes that YouTube made a foray into subscriptions last year when it created YouTube Red, but has yet to reveal subscriber numbers or revenue. Analysts, however, say YouTube Red’s growth has been moderate.
“There was no real big pull for (users) to do a (YouTube Red) subscription,” Shin explained. “The content wasn’t compelling enough.”
