Manatt’s Eunice Shin, managing director of Manatt Digital, was interviewed by the Los Angeles Times for an article on Apple’s multiyear deal with Oprah Winfrey.
The publication noted that, given competition from streaming giants like Netflix, Amazon, Hulu and now Walt Disney, Apple needs big-name players to help it catch up in the space.
“For them to take on Netflix, Amazon and Hulu, and soon Disney, Apple knows it needs to spend the money to acquire the best talent and content,” said Shin. “Going after Oprah and winning this deal is huge for Apple.”
