Manatt’s Patricia Boozang, a senior managing director with Manatt Health, was quoted by The Washington Post for an article on Arkansas’ new Medicaid work requirements.

The publication explained that not only has Arkansas received federal permission to impose work requirements on Medicaid enrollees, but it also will lock participants out of health coverage for the remainder of the plan year if they fail to comply.

Boozang explained that there is more “administrative simplicity” in cutting off coverage for the rest of a plan year than in allowing people to come in and out.

“It’s a straightforward ‘you’re out’ and then back in with everyone else,” Boozang said.
