Manatt’s Gregg Nunziata, a partner in the firm’s government and regulatory practice, was interviewed by Fox News to discuss the delay of the vote on the nomination of Brett Kavanaugh to the Supreme Court.
The news segment examined the events following the testimony of Christine Blasey Ford and Kavanaugh before the Senate Judiciary Committee. While the committee has voted in support of Kavanaugh moving forward, his Senate floor vote has been delayed by a week.
“The [Senate] Judiciary Committee did vote on the nomination, did report him to the Senate floor, but with this condition that’s driven by Senator Flake,” said Nunziata. “It’s a reminder of how much an individual senator can control the rhythm of things here in Congress, especially when the Senate is so closely divided.”
