Manatt’s Gregg Nunziata, a partner in the firm’s government and regulatory practice, was interviewed by Fox News to discuss President Donald Trump’s Supreme Court nominee.

The news outlet examined the clashes between Democratic and Republican members of the Judiciary Committee, and noted that several Democratic members protested the hearing by interrupting remarks by Committee Chairman Chuck Grassley.

“Clearly, they [Democrats] don’t have the votes to stop Kavanaugh; they don’t have the arguments to do it either,” said Nunziata. “I think what Brett Kavanaugh is speaking about in his opening statement tonight is a vision of the court that the American people respect and understand—judges that apply the law as written and don’t advance narrow ideological agendas, and that’s contrary to what some of these Democrats want.”
