Katie Schwab is a managing director and co-chair of the firm’s New York City government, policy and government contracts practice.
Katie has over 25 years of professional experience working with government entities in New York City and Long Island. She provides analysis and strategic advice to non-profit organizations, trade associations and corporations that are engaged in the New York City regulatory, legislative and procurement systems. She also works with her clients to develop and implement broad-based public and community outreach strategies.
Prior to joining Manatt, Katie served as a senior government relations advisor at the Law Offices of Claudia Wagner LLC. Previously, she was the Director of Government and Corporate Affairs for Cemusa Inc., an international street furniture and outdoor advertising company.
Katie began her career in the counsel’s office at the New York City Landmarks Preservation Commission. She then served in the Mayor’s Office of City Legislative Affairs and the Department of Transportation’s Division of Franchises, Concessions and Consents. After leaving City service, she joined the Alliance for Downtown New York and became the founding executive director of the Oyster Bay Main Street Association in Oyster Bay, Long Island. Katie subsequently served as Deputy Commissioner for Comprehensive Planning of the Nassau County Planning Commission.
