Naomi Newman is a director of Manatt Health Solutions, an interdisciplinary policy and business advisory division of Manatt, Phelps & Phillips, LLP. She advises the leadership of academic medical centers, children's hospitals and health systems on strategic and organizational priorities. Ms. Newman manages and supports engagements focused on service line planning, mergers and acquisitions strategy, operations and performance improvement and economic alignment, among other issues.
Ms. Newman's project work has included providing clinical enterprise strategic planning to academic medical centers in the West and Northwest regions, for which she conducted in-depth profitability and market share analyses to guide service line planning and facilitated the development of strategies to enhance regional business partnerships. She has also performed detailed assessments of funds flow mechanisms across hospital and affiliated medical group entities, developed blueprints for new funds flow models to better align incentives, and led operations and performance improvement initiatives resulting in significant savings in purchasing, supply and management expenses.
Prior to joining Manatt, Ms. Newman was a senior managerial consultant for The Permanente Medical Group (TPMG), where she facilitated the development of TPMG's cancer strategy and led performance improvement initiatives in the areas of laboratory services and preoperative medicine. Before TPMG, Ms. Newman was a senior consultant with The Chartis Group, where she provided strategic planning and operational improvement advice to academic medical centers, children's hospitals, and health systems.
