Manatt, Phelps & Phillips, LLP is looking for an associate with a minimum of five years of consumer financial services regulatory enforcement and litigation experience to join our growing team. Ideal candidates will have substantial experience in both consumer financial services regulatory enforcement proceedings and class action litigation, together with a strong knowledge of federal and state laws regulating consumer and small business finance and payment products.
Manatt’s consumer financial services attorneys work collaboratively across offices and practices and represent a wide variety of clients, including banks, mortgage lenders and servicers, credit card issuers, auto finance companies, student lenders, specialty finance companies, institutional investors, and nonfinancial companies offering products and services subject to consumer financial protection laws, such as retailers, sports and entertainment companies, and telecommunication and satellite television service providers. A rapidly expanding part of our practice involves advising emerging companies in the fintech space, including online lenders and mobile payment companies, regarding the application of legacy laws to their disruptive technologies.
- Minimum of five years of substantial consumer financial services litigation and enforcement experience
- Excellent written and verbal communication and advocacy skills
- Excellent legal research and analytical skills
- Effective and efficient problem solving capabilities with the ability to work independently and proactively, and to develop creative solutions to meet client and team needs
- Bar membership in good standing in the jurisdiction in which you plan to practice
