Manatt Adds Universal Music Publishing Group Executive

Skilled Music Publishing Lawyer Joins Manatt’s National Entertainment Practice.

Manatt, Phelps & Phillips, LLP, announced that Michael Rexford has joined the firm’s Entertainment Practice in its Los Angeles office. Mr. Rexford comes to Manatt from Universal Music Publishing Group, where he served as vice president of business affairs.

While at Universal, Mr. Rexford was involved in all aspects of music publishing-related deal making in the Los Angeles, New York, Nashville, Miami and Canadian music markets as well as in other specialty areas, including film and television catalogs and production music.

In addition to utilizing his substantial experience in music publishing for the benefit of Manatt’s songwriter and music publisher clients, Mr. Rexford will counsel and guide a wide range of clients in the music industry, including recording artists, producers, engineers, independent record companies, managers and music industry executives.
