Huffington Post Speaks to Joel Ario on Effects of Healthcare.gov Glitches

"Obamacare Workers Are Desperately Trying to Sign People Up"

October 10, 2013 - The Huffington Post interviewed Manatt's Joel Ario, a managing director with Manatt Health Solutions, on the potential effects of a faulty federal exchange website.

The Huffington Post reports that local enrollment workers are figuring out ways to help Americans sign up for insurance as the federal exchange website, Healthcare.gov, remains glitchy. Assistants are offering sign-ups by telephone, setting up appointments to try the site again and are moving forward with educational events. Industry insiders told the publication that if the site isn't doing better by mid-November, then consumers could start getting disillusioned.

"The people who most need the coverage will be patient with whatever glitches they have to work through. They'll get signed up," said Ario. "But people who have less immediate need for the coverage probably have less of a patience quota here."
