The Business of Security - Cyber Security Panel Discussion with US Bank

U.S. Bank is proud to partner with Manatt as they celebrate their 50th anniversary in an interactive presentation on “The Business of Security.” The program and luncheon is on Thursday, May 28 at the U.S. Bank Tower in Los Angeles.

The panel will discuss tactics of organized cyber criminals—including malware and hacking trends—aimed at defrauding and causing significant harm to targets, and will share practical advice on data breach preparedness planning, data breach notification, and legal and operational issues relating to the governance of information across organizations.

Speakers

Michael L. Kearn, CISSP, U.S. Bank Information Security Officer (ISO) & Principal Security Architect, is responsible for assessing and analyzing technology solutions on behalf of the Consumer Banking division of the bank. As an ISO, he regularly consults with technology and operational risk management executives as an information security subject matter expert. Within his architect role, Mr. Kearn partners on projects for the Consumer Bank and is responsible for ensuring that those projects align with information security policy and industry best practices for securing systems. Mr. Kearn brings more than 17 years of varied experience in Information Technology to his current role.

Donna Wilson, co-chair of Manatt’s Privacy and Data Security and Financial Services Litigation groups advises clients on overall consumer protection-related and financial services disputes and compliance issues, and provides integrated advisory services to assist in the mitigation of the risks associated with data security, information governance and privacy issues. She has been recognized by the Daily Journal as one of the Top 100 Women Lawyers in California (2013), and as a Leading Attorney in Privacy and Data Security by the Legal 500 (2012, 2013).

Barrie VanBrackle, a member of Manatt’s Privacy and Data Security practice, is co-chair of the Global Payments and Consumer Financial Services practice group and a member of the Financial Services and Banking practice. She advises clients in the payments transaction business, with an emphasis on electronic payments, banking, and payment card network regulatory and data security, as well as federal and state data privacy and security matters.
