Manatt Government and Regulatory Practice’s Delilah Clay, legislative & regulatory advisor, was profiled by Sacramento Business Journal as one of its 2020 “40 Under 40” honorees. This list “celebrates those individuals who reflect the drive, commitment and passion that help make Sacramento great,” according to the Business Journal.
Clay was recognized for her work co-leading the effort to enact the CROWN Act last year, which is just one example of her leadership. The CROWN Act is first-of-its-kind legislation that prohibits discrimination on the basis of a person’s natural hair. It has become the model for similar legislation across the country. Clay’s profile also highlights her extensive pro bono work with groups such as the Children’s Law Center and Weave, an organization that supports domestic violence and sexual assault victims.
