Cooke and Jacobs Recognized on Daily Journal’s 2020 Top Intellectual Property Lawyers List

– Daily Journal

Manatt’s Michelle Cooke, leader of the firm’s intellectual property protection and enforcement practice, and Robert Jacobs, entertainment litigation practice leader, were named to Daily Journal’s 2020 Top Intellectual Property Lawyers list. This annual list recognizes California’s leading lawyers handling intellectual property matters.

In her profile, Cooke was recognized for her work advising Yoobi through a years-long trademark dispute in Europe and for her work with Public Media Group of Southern California, an entity that was created through the merger between PBS SoCal and Cooke’s client KCETLink Media Group. The publication also noted Cooke’s experience at the intersection of intellectual property matters and privacy and data security issues.

Daily Journal recognized Jacobs for his work representing musicians, producers and companies in the entertainment industry in high-profile copyright and trademark disputes. In particular, Jacobs’ profile highlighted his work defending DJ Marshmello in a lawsuit filed by Artem Stoliarov (also known as Arty) alleging that Marshmello’s 2018 hit "Happier" was plagiarized from Arty's 2014 remix of One Republic's "I Lived."
