Billboard interviewed Manatt’s Jeff Biederman, co-chair of the firm’s music practice, for an article that examines how the #MeToo movement could negatively impact women in the music industry.
While large corporations have diversity requirements in place, smaller companies may be less vigilant. In an industry that is already male dominated, fewer females in the room means fewer chances for advancement at a time that already presents challenges.
“If you can’t get into the room, you can’t make a deal and you don’t have the same economic opportunities,” Biederman told the publication.
