Manatt’s Gregg Nunziata, a partner in the government and regulatory group, spoke with MSNBC regarding the recent release of a report from Special Counsel Robert Mueller and potential next steps by Democrats and Republicans in response to the report.
Mueller released a 400-page report on April 18 regarding alleged collusion between Russia and President Donald Trump in the 2016 presidential election.
Nunziata spoke on the “ethical imperative” that some Trump administration officials may feel after the release of this report.
“I think when you work for a politician, you buy into them and their agenda, to a degree,” he said. “But you also have an obligation to yourself, to morality, to the law, to be able to find a way to be loyal to both things. And sometimes as a lawyer, or a person in business, your role is to say, ‘No, don’t do that.’ A lot of that was happening here.”
