Gyory Quoted on Buffalo’s Mayoral Race

– The New York Times

Manatt government and regulatory Senior Advisor Bruce Gyory is quoted in The New York Times discussing India Walton’s bid to unseat the deep-rooted 16-year mayor of Buffalo. The publication reported that Walton’s campaign was backed by the Working Families Party and the Democratic Socialists of America. “The last time a socialist was the mayor of a large American city was 1960, when Frank P. Zeidler stepped down as Milwaukee’s mayor. And it was more than a century ago when a socialist won a mayoral race in New York: In 1911, George R. Lunn, of the Socialist Party of America, was elected mayor of Schenectady,” Gyory recalled.
