Professional Background

With over two decades of experience in private practice and in-house, I provide cross-purpose, multidisciplinary legal counseling on transactional and regulatory matters in advertising, entertainment and media across a wide range of industries, including financial services, consumer products, retail, sports, media and entertainment, and advertising.

I work with clients to strategically assess and address competitive and regulatory compliance challenges, including evaluating advertising and marketing practices, developing compliance programs, and assisting clients in the event of legal or regulatory actions related to advertising and marketing practices; negotiating business alliances, including sponsorships, tie-in arrangements with sports and entertainment properties, co-promotion deals, media deals, agency agreements, and talent endorsements/influencer agreements; advising on content production and distribution issues; and developing and implementing advertising and marketing programs across multiple platforms.

Having worked as a senior marketing lawyer at a Fortune 100 company for a number of years, I like to work with clients to find practical, executional solutions to promote their strategic goals.

My Advice to Entrepreneurs
  1. Use lawyers as strategic partners.
  2. Do not enter into bad deals for the sake of speed—not all mistakes can be easily fixed.
  3. Avoid making any false, deceptive or overblown statements to consumers, media or investors, or making promises that cannot be kept.
