Manatt Represents Data Society in its Acquisition by Growth Catalyst Partners

A Manatt team led by Corporate and Finance Partner Scott Schwartz and Tax Partner Jeff Mannisto represented Washington, D.C.-based education technology company, Data Society, in its acquisition by Growth Catalyst Partners, a Chicago-based private equity fund.

Data Society provides customized, industry-tailored data science training and AI solutions in order to educate, equip, and empower their customer’s workforce. Growth Catalyst Partners (“GCP”) is a middle market private equity firm focused on investing in information, marketing and tech-enabled services businesses. The Data Society Group brings an unrivaled resource as organizations accelerate data empowerment for all in a time of digital transformation and AI.

The deal team also included Counsel David Schur (Employment and Labor), Associates Jonathan Weiss (Tax), Cat Larson (Venture Capital / Emerging Companies) and Kai-Jen Chen (Corporate and Finance).

The transaction closed on February 9, 2024.
