Manatt has been named the recipient of the Association of Media & Entertainment Counsel’s (AMEC’s) 2011 Law Firm of the Year Award. AMEC, the leading trade association serving general counsel and business affairs attorneys at major media and entertainment companies, will honor Manatt at a gala luncheon on January 13, 2012, at the House of Blues in West Hollywood.
AMEC’s annual Counsel of the Year Awards were created seven years ago to honor excellence among in-house counsel and business affairs executives at major media and entertainment companies. In 2007, the association expanded its awards to include the recognition of law firms excelling in the entertainment practice.
“It is truly an honor to be recognized in this way by such a distinguished organization as the Association of Media & Entertainment Counsel,” said Alan Brunswick, chair of Manatt’s Entertainment & Media Practice Group. “Few firms in the industry can provide clients with the comprehensive counsel that Manatt does, with nationally recognized transactional, regulatory, and litigation capabilities. From music, film and television, advertising and video games to new media, the firm is an innovator for our clients both here and abroad. I am proud of the work our colleagues do and grateful to our clients for trusting us with their important projects, deals and challenges. We thank the AMEC for this award.”
AMEC cofounder and Chair of the Global Entertainment and Media Practice at Korn Ferry International Bill Simon said, “We are honored and excited to recognize Alan Saxe [Counsel of the Year Award recipient] and Manatt, Phelps & Phillips for their significant role and influence on the entertainment industry. Their contributions and achievements represent the ideals of AMEC as one of the leading organizations in the entertainment industry.”
In addition to recognizing the achievements of entertainment attorneys, AMEC provides its members with training opportunities, career guidance, and industry insights through its quarterly publication.
