Edward Osher is a Manatt Entertainment associate in the firm’s Los Angeles office. His practice focuses primarily on film and television production, distribution, and licensing.
In particular, Edward has deep experience representing both television operators and networks, including regional sports networks, in television distribution, both via traditional distribution methods and newer methods such as streaming.
Edward also has experience serving in a general advisory role to leading talent agencies, counseling on myriad legal issues including with respect to state licensing of their businesses. He also has notable experience in the acquisition of film and television libraries.
Aside from his work in the field of film and television, Edward is practiced in negotiating and documenting technology-based transactions, including with respect to outsourcing arrangements and software licensing.
Edward has also served two secondments during his time at Manatt. In 2016, he supported the entertainment division of a multinational telecommunications company in the launch of its streaming television service. In 2020, he served as temporary general counsel for a Los Angeles-based private equity company specializing in the acquisition of film and television assets and royalties.
