Young Recognized on Daily Journal’s 2020 “Top 40 Under 40” List

Government and regulatory partner Brandon Young was named on Daily Journal’s 2020 “Top 40 Under 40” list, which recognizes the top 40 lawyers in California under the of 40 each year. Young was recognized for his work addressing the issue of homelessness in Los Angeles through his representation of the County of Los Angeles in L.A. Alliance v. City of Los Angeles, as well as for his pro bono work assisting the HHH Citizens Advisory Committee—a group tasked with making recommendations to Los Angeles to aid in the development of thousands of housing units for low-income people and the homeless—by drafting a set of proposals to expedite the construction of homeless housing in the city using funds from Proposition HHH.

Commenting on his work with the HHH Citizens Advisory Committee, which led to the approval of six housing projects, Young noted that his assistance “developed into an engagement with the county as a subject matter expert on constitutional, contracting and housing issues around homelessness, so when the current case was filed [he] was a logical choice to serve on the defense team.” Young expects there to be a lot more litigation to come in this arena, but it’s the matter he is “most proud to be associated with.”
