Burak S. Ahmed

Burak Ahmed is an associate in the Firm’s Los Angeles office who advises businesses, private equity sponsors, strategic acquirers, lenders and emerging growth companies on the tax aspects of complex U.S. and cross-border transactions. He brings a dual legal and CPA background that allows him to navigate both the technical tax rules and the financial realities that drive deals, giving clients clear, practical guidance in high-stakes environments.

Burak’s work spans mergers and acquisitions, venture and growth financings, and executive and equity-based compensation planning. He regularly supports transactions ranging from $25 million to over $1 billion, helping clients structure deals efficiently, manage tax risk and identify opportunities for tax optimization. His experience includes partnership tax matters, as well as corporate and S corporation tax issues arising in entity formation, restructurings and transaction structuring. His CPA training enhances his ability to evaluate financial statements, model tax outcomes, and communicate sophisticated issues in a way that aligns with business objectives.

He also advises on QSBS eligibility and planning, SPAC transactions, and compliance with and exemptions from IRC §409A, helping companies design compensation and incentive arrangements that are both tax efficient and strategically sound.
