State Assembly to vote on bill to bolster borrower, tenant protections

By: Grace D. Winters | Linda Rangel

Manatt Real Estate partner Grace Winters, senior attorney Linda Rangel and associate Jordan Tessier authored an article for Daily Journal on the importance for real estate professionals to understand what the impact of the failed Assembly Bill 2501, known as the COVID-19: Homeowner, Tenant and Consumer Relief Law of 2020, would have been, especially given the uncertain regulatory landscape amid COVID-19. “Tenant and borrower protections are still top of mind for lawmakers, so the following implications still have relevance and should be considered, for borrowers and lenders, in case additional legislation arises in the coming months,” they said.
