Shatz Invited to Become American Academy of Appellate Lawyers Fellow

Manatt appellate partner Benjamin Shatz has been invited to become a Fellow of the American Academy of Appellate Lawyers (AAAL), and will be sworn in during AAAL’s Spring Meeting in April 2021.

AAAL membership—which is limited to 500 members in the United States—is by invitation only and recognizes appellate lawyers who possess a reputation of recognized distinction. Fellows must have focused substantially on appeals during at least the last 15 years.

Founded in 1990, the AAAL honors outstanding appellate lawyers and promotes the improvement of appellate advocacy and the administration of the appellate courts. Prospective Fellows must be nominated by a present AAAL member, reviewed and approved by a Membership Evaluation Committee, and elected at a regular AAAL meeting.
