Jacobs Quoted in Business Insider on the Use of Copyrighted Music on TikTok

Entertainment Litigation practice Leader Robert Jacobs was quoted in a Business Insider discussing a lawsuit surrounding the use of TikTok’s built-in music in advertisements on the social media platform. In the article, Jacobs explained there’s a difference between everyday users dancing or reacting to a popular song and a company paying an influencer to promote their product using the song. “…[If] you're going to try to make money from the use, or if you're going to try to register your own rights, basically incorporating the music, that's not okay. That's not allowed,” Jacobs said.
