Alex C. Spring
Alex Spring is an associate in the Firm’s Los Angeles office. Alex’s practice is focused primarily within the music industry, where she advises and counsels a wide variety of music industry players, including recording artists, producers, songwriters, record labels and publishing companies. She has extensive experience in negotiating recording and distribution agreements, publishing agreements, management agreements, influencer, branding and endorsement agreements, and merchandising agreements.
She also has experience in corporate transactional matters within the entertainment industry, including legal counsel for music investors and rightsholders in connection with music catalog acquisitions from both the buyer-side and seller-side. Alex also has experience advising clients in connection with employment and touring matters.
Before joining Manatt, Alex worked in-house at a global entertainment company. She provided guidance on a variety of matters, including intellectual property licensing agreements related to live and location-based entertainment exploitations, merchandising, interactive and digital media, maintenance of the company’s trademark and copyright portfolio, and clearance and rights analyses related to film and television properties and talent agreements.
During law school, Alex held positions at a well-known record label, an electronic music event promotor, and an international music publishing and recording company.
