Bernard A. Mantel

Bernard Mantel is counsel in Manatt's Entertainment practice, based in the Firm’s New York office. He has significant experience in the live concert and touring sectors of the music business and regularly advises performing artists, talent agencies, music festivals, and live performance venues across a wide range of matters in the multifaceted world of live entertainment.     

Bernard's practice also encompasses complex intellectual property and copyright issues. He regularly advises recording artists and songwriters in connection with the protection and management of creative works, recording agreements, publishing agreements, licensing agreements, management agreements, sponsorship and endorsement agreements. He also effectively negotiates and resolves disputes related to the ownership and use of musical works.

Before joining Manatt, Bernard excelled as an entertainment associate at a prominent national law firm in New York City, where he managed a diverse array of entertainment matters. He has also served as in-house counsel at several booking agencies, providing seasoned advice to high-profile artists, agents, managers, and music executives. 

During law school, Bernard interned for the Honorable Joan A. Lenard of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida.
