Brief Description:

Manatt, Phelps & Phillips, LLP, is seeking a highly qualified associate with three to six years of experience to join our government and regulatory practice.

Ideal candidates will have demonstrated experience with construction and/or government contracts and regulatory matters. Experience with heavy civil construction disputes and/or local, state and federal government contracts is a plus. We will also consider candidates with strong complex litigation, corporate transactional and/or governmental law experience at a top law firm.

Our government attorneys assist local, state, and federal clients navigate complex legal and public policy issues at the intersection of law, business, and government. They work on a broad range of substantive areas involving local and state government contracts, bid protests, construction disputes, municipal/public law issues (open meetings, public records, government ethics, and election law) across a spectrum of industries including transportation, health, environmental services, and real estate. In addition to courts, our attorneys appear before various boards, commissions, joint powers authorities, city councils and committees, administrative tribunals, dispute review boards, and other government entities.

Responsibilities: 

  • 3-6 years of construction and/or government contract/regulatory experience at a top law firm or government agency.

  • Stellar academic credentials.

  • Excellent writing, research and advocacy skills.

  • Effective and efficient problem solvers with the ability to work independently and proactively.

  • New York Bar Membership in good standing.

Salary

The base annual pay range for this role is between $240,000 - $330,000. The base pay to be offered will vary and depend on skills and qualifications, experience, location and will also take into account internal equity. Additional medical, financial and/or other benefits will be offered dependent on the position.
