Position Overview

As a contingent part-time employee at Manatt, you will work with a team of passionate and driven professionals. You will provide subject matter and consulting expertise for our clients with a particular focus in developing or implementing governmental strategy. The ideal candidate brings years of experience in healthcare finance, governance, and strategy, with proven success in building and implementing joint ventures, partnerships, and affiliations across the healthcare continuum - from Fortune 500 systems to independent physician groups.

Responsibilities

  • Provide specialized subject matter expertise to project work streams throughout the lifecycle of an engagement, from strategic design through implementation and execution.

  • Offer high-level advisory on organizational, financial, and strategic transformation initiatives, including partnership development and governance models.

  • Leverage extensive financial expertise to inform economic modeling, capital planning, and value proposition development for clients.

  • Deliver qualitative and quantitative analyses to support complex business and policy decisions involving market trends, joint ventures, and strategic affiliations.

  • Collaborate with health systems, payers, start-ups, and integrated delivery networks to develop creative solutions that advance healthcare transformation.

  • Support client leadership in navigating financial, regulatory, and operational challenges within evolving market landscapes.

Qualifications

  • Deep subject matter expertise in healthcare finance, governance, and strategy, with demonstrated experience consulting on governmental or policy-related strategy initiatives.

  • Over 15 years of experience, including integration and development for major integrated health systems.

  • Proven track record in structuring and implementing complex partnerships, including joint ventures with academic medical centers, health plans, pediatric providers, and national health systems.

  • Experience advising startups and large health systems on capital financing, strategic affiliations, revenue cycle optimization, and performance improvement.

  • Mastery of healthcare financial modeling, capital structure development, and service line expansion strategies.

  • Demonstrated ability to engage C-level executives, board members, and cross-functional teams with a collaborative and outcomes-oriented approach.

  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate complex financial and strategic concepts for a range of audiences.

  • Strong proficiency in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint, with a particular focus on creating high-impact presentation materials and economic models.

Salary

The base annual pay range for this role is between $150,000 - $200,000. The base pay to be offered will vary and depend on skills and qualifications, experience, location and will also take into account internal equity.  Additional medical, financial and/or other benefits will not be offered for this position.
