Manatt is looking for real estate transaction associates with a broad range of experience over three to about five years to join our Real Estate Transactions & Finance practice, led by Anita Famili, recognized as a Top-Ranked Attorney in Real Estate (California: Southern) by Chambers USA, as a Top 100 Lawyer in 2022 by the Los Angeles Business Journal, and as a Next Generation Partner in Real Estate by The Legal 500 US from 2020-2024.

With significant depth and experience across most real estate asset classes and all phases of development projects, we help clients navigate complex matters involving mixed use developments, hospitality, brownfield developments, construction, debt and equity financings, joint ventures, acquisitions, dispositions, affordable housing, complex leasing, public/private transactions, and loan restructurings.

Manatt’s Real Estate Transactions & Finance team works collaboratively across offices and practices and engages in a wide range of transactions across our industry sectors, including hospitality, entertainment, retail, industrial and mixed-use projects, technology and digital media, cannabis and CBD, energy/alternative energy, financial services, and fintech. Manatt’s unique professional services approach coupled with our deep industry expertise allows us to build relationships and serve as trusted advisors to our clients and, in turn, perform cutting-edge work to help guide them through a dynamic, ever-evolving legal and business landscape. The team works with clients ranging from institutional owners to entrepreneurial developers to large corporate/technology companies. Our clients include companies such as Meta, Jay Paul, Lowe Enterprises, international hotel companies, LACMA, Dignity Health, the largest national specialty grocer, Accor, and Westfield.

We are looking for candidates with broad experience in real estate transactions, including acquisitions, dispositions, retail and ground leasing, financing, construction, development, joint ventures, with experience in hospitality and CC&Rs a plus. Candidates should have demonstrated experience in negotiating and drafting purchase and sale agreements, commercial leases, mortgage loan documents, managing closing checklists, overseeing closing documents and other fundamental real estate transaction documents, with experience negotiating and drafting joint venture agreements, hotel management and license agreements, CC&Rs, REAs, Declarations and Easement Agreements being a plus. 

Requirements:

  • Minimum of three years of broad transactional real estate experience

  • Excellent writing and communication skills

  • A self-starter with the ability to juggle multiple, diverse projects in a fast-paced environment

  • Team-oriented attitude with an emphasis on collaboration

  • Effective and efficient problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently and proactively with confidence

  • Bar membership in good standing in the jurisdiction in which you plan to practice

Salary

The base annual pay range for this role is between $250,000 - $345,000. The base pay to be offered will vary and depend on skills and qualifications, experience, location and will also take into account internal equity. Additional medical, financial and/or other benefits will be offered dependent on the position.
