Profile

Emily Carrier, M.D., is a senior advisor with Manatt Health, an interdisciplinary policy and business advisory practice of Manatt. A medical professional and health care consultant specializing in emergency medicine, access to health care and hospital utilization, she leverages her clinical experience to create solutions that improve health care quality and reduce costs.

Before joining Manatt, Emily served as a division director in the Seamless Care Models Group in the Center for Medicare & Medicaid Innovation at the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services. Prior to that, she was a senior health researcher at the Center for Studying Health System Change and Mathematica Policy Research. Her primary research interests focused on the fragmentation and coordination of care, emergency care, and the future of safety-net providers under health reform.

Emily practiced at several hospitals and medical centers in the New York City area and in Northern Virginia. She completed her emergency medicine residency and chief residency at Bellevue Hospital/New York University before completing a medicine and public health research fellowship with New York University.
